Wedding and Event Planning NHL Style-a Lesson in Tolerance!

A key factor for wedding and event planning is the ability to deliver something unique. After all if it’s unique it’s going to leave a lasting impression. And hopefully a positive impression. At least that’s the goal for anyone in the wedding and event planning industry.

And not to sound partisan here, but if I hear one more GOP candidate tell us that the US will be ruined if we accept same-sex marriages I think I’ll start screaming at the top of my lungs. Obviously this nation was built on freedoms, both religious and morals. The same could be said about any Western culture country.

For a special lesson in tolerance, the US needs to look no further than its neighbor to the north, Canada. What Canada has shown the world is that tolerance can work. And even better than that, tolerance can also teach us that we don’t have to fear anyone who isn’t like us.

Take a look at the video below. At first, it seems to be a normal wedding and event planning event in that someone is surprising their significant other with a proposal at a major sporting event. We’ve seen it before where one half is totally caught off guard and is surprised (hopefully pleasantly) by a proposal being directed at them via a Jumbotron. However this video also shows us a country, namely Canada, that is supportive of same-sex rights. As a matter of fact, as the video shows us, to the crowd there is nothing unnatural happening here.

And hats off to the NHL. The NHL is at the forefront of tolerance in professional sports. Well done Canada, well done NHL, and congratulations to the two young ladies as they embark on their life together.

It does show us that in fact “it gets better“!
