This Week’s Top Event Planning Tweets on Sustainability

Event planning top tweetsAs many of you know by now, each week we like to review our twitter followers and present you with some of the top tweets of the week in event planning. This week’s focus is on sustainability. It seems that event and meeting planners are factoring sustainability into their planning more and more.

This week our top tweets on sustainability feature @pauldezylva who shares the story that was published in the UK’s Telegraph reviewing just how green the London 2012 Olympics are. @playaviva shows us 10 simple ways that we can reuse plastic bottle lids. Plastic water bottles are always abundant during meetings. It’s nice to see creativity being shown on ways that we can reuse the lids. For those involved in event transportation there’s good news from @ecomagination. You see there’s something called aerographite which is the world’s lightest material. Experts are thinking that this material could one day be used in batteries for green transportation . And finally @DowChemical (never thought I’d be linking to them in a sustainability post but, I have to say, it’s nice to see) gives us a rundown of the London 2012 Olympic Stadium and how a large amount of its steel frame can be dismantled and reused.
