Want to add a little bit of splash the next time you’re planning a party? Adding a little bit of decor can do wonders to your event and it doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. Have you ever noticed when you added a centerpiece to your table how it just pops out? The same applies when planning a party – adding decor will kick your event up a notch.
Now that I’m in the event planning industry, I tend to give a quick glance around the room every time I attend a party or function. And quite often I find myself thinking of ways that event could have been set up differently, flow could have moved differently, or any number of factors that “could have” made the event or party that much better. Not that I tend to rip apart every single idea that I didn’t come up with. Actually it’s quite often the opposite. When I attend parties, I’m looking for ideas that I can apply for my client’s next events. More often than not, all they needed to do was add a centerpiece here or a drape there and the space would have looked much more professional.
Using Balloons For More Than Just Kids Parties
A lot of people have the misconception that when planning a party decor is an option only for those with a large budget. While decor can certainly can be expensive depending on the type and amount, it doesn’t always have to be. Quite often simply adding a colorful floral arrangement at the entrance or a few potters scattered around the room with simple centerpieces is all that is needed to change the look and feel of your event. If you’ve every attended or have been involved in planning a party for children, then you have most likely used balloons for decor. There’s a reason that kids like the balloons. Apart from being fun to burst, the multitude of colors attract the children’s eyes and puts them in a festive mood. I’ve worked with quite a few clients planning a party and they didn’t have large budgets. For them I’ve always suggested the use of balloons as decor. I would also ask my supplier to provide me with a few pictures. At first my clients would be hesitant but once I showed them a few examples, they were usually quite impressed. Whether it be an archway at the entrance, a creative large centerpiece on the tables, balloons can help add character to an otherwise open cold space.
So the next time you’re planning a party don’t rule our decor right away. You’ll be surprised what you can add to your event without breaking the bank.
